Anyway, what everyone might have noticed, the Theme has changed. Might put up a few more later, if you want to request one go here http://mods.mybboard.net/themes and pick one.

Also, the Layout changed somewhat, if you don't like it that way you can always change that back if you want to.
Just go to your User CP and click "Edit Options" under "Thread View Options" is a checkbox "Display posts in classic mode" that will just do what it says.

And on a last note, the Forum will be Ad free within the next few days, or as long as it takes the hoster to change that, that means no more stupid layer ads for the next years.
And it only costs over 9000......erm 12 Euro (about 17$) for one year.
So yeah, question, problems, anything? Just post em here.
Anyway, it's pretty common among fansub groups to have an irc channel. For those that don't know, an irc channel is a chat channel. There's a lot of different channels for different purposes and on different networks. Irc is accessed through programs such as mIRC. It's easy to use, really.

Since channels for fansubs groups are so common I thought it might be an idea for TnKP to get one up. That way we might get some chatting among YGO fans going. Maybe even get an XDCC bot up to distribute episode and scripts? What do you guys say?

Well, my computer doesn't have sound, so I download the episodes and convert them, then add them to my PVP (personal video player) for later viewing. This worked fine with the hardsubbed episodes. However, my player doesn't support the .ASS file extension, but I've seen other subtitled videos that it played fine. My question is, do you know of a program (preferably open-source) that can either merge the .ASS files with the original source video, or that can convert the .ASS script to another file extension subtitle that is supported? Thanks in advance.

Since I get a bajillion PMs a day about this, I finally caved in and decided to write this up. I can put in pictures that detail the process, but I don't think this process would be that hard. (Although, there are also people who don't know how to work Torrents either...Hmm...) Anyway...

HOW TO USE .ASS SCRIPTS WITH RAW EPISODES.

Before you do anything, you might have to download CCCP to gain the necessary codecs and such. Doing so will only take a few minutes of your life and is completely safe. CCCP also comes with what you will use to view the episodes, Media Player Classic (MPC, for short,) and is what I personally use *wink and thumbs up*

Steps:
1. Click on the forum thread appropriate for the episode. (It will usually say "[DM/GX/5D's] Episode [Insert Here]")
2. Download the script. (Right click and Save as.)
3. Download the episode. (Self-explanatory. The link should be in the thread.)
4. Save both in the same directory/place.
5. Rename both (or just one of them) so that they have the same names.
6. Play video.
7. ???
8. PROFIT

You don't have to fiddle around with the text settings with Vobsub (comes with CCCP) because the scripts are already typeset. Also, make sure to use the raws in the thread, or make sure you have the appropriate raw. If you don't, the times will be off some. (Which could be shifted around in Aegisub, but I find that bothersome.)

So, just follow these simple steps and you'll be watching YGO from past and present in a matter of minutes.

5D's Episode 1 and Why So Many Versions of It!?!?

I posted this in Releases, but I might as well post this here for any of you people who haven't signed up yet (which I suggest you should *cough*.)

Found out the version of episode 1 that's out still has those blasted errors due to not knowing wtf they were saying due to lack of proper hearing. When 5D's gets to say, around 10 episodes in, or maybe even when the DVDs come out and someone besides me buys them, we'll batch torrent them all and update. Until then, the .ass script on our servers should be correct. The errors are really minor and don't really change the overall meaning of anything. In fact, I can list them for your convenience so you'll know what to expect in the future.

Wrong: "It seemed like you were getting tossed around by the challenger's Trap in the start of things, but you managed to predict everything in your next turn, am I right?"
Right: "It seemed like you were getting tossed around by the challenger's Trap in the start of things, but you managed to stay two, even three moves ahead, am I right?"

Note: This came from me hearing "tsugi no taan de" (次のターンで/on [your] next turn) instead of what was really there, "nite sante"　二手三手 (two moves three moves.) The fact that there were background noises everywhere didn't help...

Wrong: "Another page in his undefeated record has opened!"
Right: "Another page has been added to his undefeated record!"

Note: Mistook "kuwawatta" (加わった) for "hiraita" (開いた.) Contextually, they "mean" the same (have the same ring to them, to be precise,) but since I'm a fag like that, I have to keep it consistent

Wrong: "Wonder why Jack took his D-Wheel from before and--"
Right: "Wonder what's up with Jack's D-Wheel from befor--"

Wrong: "Thanks to you also aiding in the escape, we've got plenty of reasons to place you under custody."
Right: "Thanks to you also aiding in the escape, you've done a fine job giving us reasons to place you under custody."

Wrong: "One-way defensive, huh? You're nothing but talk!"
Right: "Padding on the defense, huh? You're nothing but talk!"

Screwed up the usage of 一方. Took me a while before I realized I actually did. (Not that I didn't know it or anything, but because I'm a tard.)

Wrong: "Tuning Speed Warrior together with Junk Synchron..."
Right: "Tuning Junk Synchron together with Speed Warrior..."

Wrong: "And this effect will make both designated monsters battle!"
Right: "And both monsters designated by this effect will battle!"

So, as you can see, these "errors" aren't really that big of a deal. However, if you're a huge perfectionist douche-nozzle like yours truly, then you might like to know. I mainly blame myself for not QC'ing properly before releasing V2 . Once again, we are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and assure you all, a situation of this sort shall never happen again.
